How to Choose Your Wedding Venue

One of the first, and biggest, decisions you will make when planning your wedding is choosing where to hold your special day.

Here at Events at Burntwood Rugby Club we have put together a guide to the options we can offer that may influence your choice of wedding and/or reception venue. Our facilities offer the perfect venue, all year round, for ceremonies and receptions, at very reasonable rates.

The Ceremony

Deciding what kind of wedding ceremony you are going to have is very important.

If you want a religious ceremony you will need to choose which place of worship is the right one for you as a couple. After you have said ‘I Do’, host your reception in our fabulous facilities.

If you would prefer a civil ceremony, then you need to contact your local registry office.

If you’ve got your heart set on doing it all in one place, hold your ceremony and reception at Events at Burntwood Rugby Club, and sort out the legalities at a time that suits you. Our room hire gives you and your guests access to the venue all day, from 9am until 1am.

Indoors vs. Outdoors

There are pros and cons to either option, so it is up to you to decide whether an indoor or outdoor wedding is best for you and your guests.

One concern for brides or grooms with an indoor wedding is that it may mean restricted space. That is not the case at Events for Burntwood Rugby Club. Our two function suites are spacious and stylish: The Nailers Suite caters for up to 110 guests and Harry’s Bar can hold up to 150 people. There is also the option to hire both rooms to take advantage of the full expanse of our facilities.

The first concern that springs to peoples’ minds with an outdoor wedding is uncertainty about the weather. Fear not with our magnificent outdoor grand marquee: enjoy the beautiful scenery without running the risk of getting wet. This is available during the first week of July each year.

Do remember, whether you choose to have an indoor or outdoor wedding, our stunning outdoor space with the beautiful surroundings of Chasewater Country Park can be used to its maximum and makes a great backdrop for those wedding pictures.

Décor

When it comes to décor, traditionally brides or grooms choose a colour scheme and style and apply it throughout all aspects of the wedding- bridal party attire, chair covers, flowers etc. This usually begins with your wedding invitations, so choosing a colour you both agree on at the beginning is paramount.

Think of Events at Burntwood Rugby Club as a blank canvas. Decorate our function suites or outdoor marquee as you wish, whether you are going for a rustic look or have a more contemporary vision.

Entertainment

Consider what atmosphere you would like to create on your big day, then think about what entertainment will achieve this. Do you want your guests up and involved in an interactive setting, or would you rather they sit back and admire from the distance? Do you want lots going on to keep guests busy, or would you prefer a more laid-back ambience where your guests just socialise amongst themselves?

Our adaptable spaces at Events at Burntwood Rugby Club mean you can have whatever you want, be it traditional or unusual. We can also provide you with information about recommend suppliers, should you wish.

Catering:

Drinks

Drinks packages are expensive and stressful; trying to make sure everyone has their tipple of choice- and these can be different for the meal and drinks reception- is a real headache.

Events at Burntwood Rugby Club can take care of this. Hire our facilities and get great value, as our prices include fully-stocked, staffed bars serving a wide range of food and drinks. Our beverages menu is surprisingly large, so you can rest assured all your guests will be catered for, and you needn’t worry about arranging serving staff either.

Decide if you would like to set some of your budget aside to put behind the bar, or if you would rather guests just pay for their own and your money go elsewhere.

Food

Your wedding, your way. You need to consider what dining style you would prefer for your big day, whether it’s a relaxed buffet or a more formal sit-down dinner. Think about your guests, the time of year and your budget when making food choices.

At Events at Burntwood Rugby Club we work with you. if you would like us to take care of the catering and service, we can provide whatever food takes your fancy, and special dietary requirements are catered for. If you would prefer to provide your own catering, that is fine by us. Let us know and we can ensure access on the day. Some caterers do not provide the service level we pride ourselves on, so please make sure you are not left with the tasks of unwrapping and tidying up afterwards when booking with them.

Budget

This is the most important one, but we have left this until last as you need to consider what you would like for your wedding, then look at it realistically and see what you get for your money.

Venue hire is usually the most expensive part of the day, so keep that cost down with Events at Burntwood Rugby Club and spend your money elsewhere. Our exceptional rates start at just £340 and we can cater for up to 250 guests at our venue.

With many positive changes and improvements at the Club, Burntwood Rugby Club’s Summer Ball 2019 promises to be our best event to date. Those lucky enough to get tickets to our premier black-tie event are set for an evening of class and elegance, as we promise to look after you from start to finish.

Drinks reception

Dress to impress to make it a truly grand affair- black tie for the gentleman and ball gowns and cocktail dresses for the ladies. Once in your finery, you and all your guests will be greeted with a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival so you can socialise, before being shown to your seats in the salubrious setting of our Outdoor Grand Marquee.

Be wined and dined

Enjoy a fine dining experience as you indulge in a delicious three-course dinner, courtesy of our award-winning caterer, Perry’s Fine Foods. Table service will be available throughout the entirety of the evening, so let our waiters and waitresses pour the perfect accompanying beverage to your meal. We have an extensive list of white wines, red wines and rosé wines, plus a large selection of gins, beers, lagers, ciders, spirits and soft drinks available to order to your table. Should you prefer to order your own drinks, Harry’s Bar will be open in the Club all evening.

Celebrate your way

Enjoy an evening full of wonderful entertainment, with live music from the brilliant Suzi and the Backbeats and DJ Rainbow Sounds providing the beat of the evening. Whether you would prefer to sit and enjoy the entertainment whilst talking and laughing with your guests, or be up on the dancefloor dancing the night away, we guarantee everyone will be celebrating in style.
